Hi
I have a Wyse 9235LE unit and this morning when I turned it on I received the usual verifying flash image message.
After about 30 seconds another message appears below it saying “No OS installed or device failure”.If the device has failed then sobeit but if it is just a corrupt OS then I would like to re-image it
Is there a way to skip the image verification so that I can get to the PXE boot stage?
Thanks
July 14, 2008 at 10:21 am #13497You can try to flash the 9235 via NetXfer. Just go and get NetXfer (from this site), install it and press “p” while powering the 9235.

July 15, 2008 at 11:04 am #13504I have downloaded the latest firmware from the Wyse site in order to try and re-image the device, however, after extracting the image it is in .i2d format.
The readme that came with NetXfer states that I must have a file named bootp.bin.
Is it ok to rename the .i2d file to a .bin?
Edit:
Going to try this:

February 23, 2011 at 12:00 am #20073Thanks for the help. One more total newbee ? and I am off to the races. I used to flash stb’ and have a ton of cables, so which type should I use. I read that an ethernet crossover cable works ( I am not familiar with that one). Your help is appreciated.
February 23, 2011 at 9:00 am #20081Use either an Ethernet cross-over cable
and connect the client and server directly or use two standard Ethernet cables and a hub in between.CG
February 27, 2011 at 5:44 pm #20117New problem. Ok, I have a Mac so had to wait until this weekend to have access to a pc to try and flash this thing. Downloaded the ms java from here and when I open netsfer only a black cmd screen opens up and I cannot get the bootp.bin file to it? I have also tried to redownload netxfer from elsewhere but it is called net transport and from there I am lost. Any ideas? Is there anyway to do this from my Mac?
February 28, 2011 at 8:26 am #20118No, you can’t use a MAC. Just drop the bootp.bin file in the same folder as the netxfer tool. Then start the NetXfer tool. After that plug in the power on your device and press and hold “p”.
This should initiate the update process.CG
March 4, 2011 at 12:32 am #20137OK that’s what I have been trying but only a black cmd screen opens up?
March 6, 2011 at 5:16 pm #20146That’s correct but then it looks like NetXfer is not running or communicating.
Verify that NetXfer is running and is configured correctly (IP Address).CG
April 2, 2011 at 9:34 pm #20306No luck yet. I do not get past the connecting message. How do I change my tcp/ip settings? I think this is my problem but I cannot seem to get to them.
April 3, 2011 at 3:31 am #20308OK I have been able to communicate with the unit and transfer files. The unit will restart show the screen with all of the ads for software on it and then it gives a dhcp and some other error. I have tried to flash three files so far with no luck. How do I select the correct file?
