Hello,
I could use some help with my Wyse 5440xl’s. I got three of them for cheap off eBay, and I’d like to either return them to their factory state. All I need them to do is show a webpage from my server, so the included Netscape browser should work fine.
One of them only comes up to a login screen, the others get to the desktop.
The writeup on this site talks about DOC tools? Can these be found? I’ve got the original 5440 image off of the Wyse website but have no way of copying it on to the 5440 (that I know of).
Alternately, if all this is too much headache, can anyone point me to some simple instructions for setting up a PXE server? I’d be perfectly happy using the modern Thinstation Linux over PXE. Google is not pointing me any way I understand.
Finally, is there any way to get old versions of Rapport? Did Wyse free the older versions? Probably not.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Brian
You can download the DOC tools from my homepage (although for NTe, they should also work for Linux – maybe you need to modify them slightly)
DOC Read and Write (pull and push an image off of old XL units) in the products sections.
