    Hello everybody,

Nice to meet you all, I’m coming to you as I’m getting quite desperate / out of solution regarding the upgrade of my Wyse 3040 from 8.6.807 to 9.1.3112 …

I switched to a test pool three of my Wyse (mine and my two IT colleagues), set the firmware to 9.1.3112 and let’s go !
Deployment is smooth, even though many restarts and take quite a long time, but deployment is working and i am able to login through my Horizon broker, so far so good !

However I lost the connection between my WMS and Wyse, if I try to do a reboot or a query nothing will happen, Wyse won’t receive/do anything.

Then, if I wait a bit I can see a message in the event log: “WMS Server is not in allowed list, check-in is forbidden” which is very strange, because if I do a manual restart or “validate key” the Wyse will check in with the WMS server.

Do you know what I miss here ? I never have any issues with 8.6 and my test pool is a copy/paste of the production one.

Thanks in advance for your help 🙂

Check your version again, Dell Wyse Management Suite version 3.3.1 is the latest version.

In your ThinOS 9 policy do you have the WMS group prefix, token, and server set?  There is a known bug that was supposed to only be impacting WMS public cloud (I realize you’re WMS is on-prem) on https://us1.wysemanagementsuite.com but your issue sound similar to what I experienced where post upgrade I would have to hit “validate key” to get the device to check-in.

I had to setup my ThinOS 9 policy in WMS as below and for the server URL take off the https and just use us1.wysemanagementsuite.com, this works for me when going 8.6_807 to 9.1.3112 and also any version of 9.x to 9.1.3112

    Hello,

we can close the topic !
I followed andersstougaard recommendation and upgrade to the latest 3.3.1 (just released two days ago) and my issues is fixed !!!
Seems like the issue was coming from WMS and not ThinOS !

So if you have a similar issue, I highly recommend to upgrade to 3.3.1 🙂
