Hi,
What is “SST audio” exactly ?
I’ve just received a few 3040 and audio is weird (over RDP).
When testing it from the VM, it’s OK (w/ Zoom). But in a real meeting the microphone is awful ( I mean what others are receiving from me is awful) . Switched back to a D10D (same VM over RDP) and it’s OK.
SST Audio is the inbuild audio chip of the 3040.

Hello,
Is it possible to disable the Intel SST audio via WMS?
We are trying to connect headsets (jabra and sennheiser)to citrix sessions and use them for voice-enabled teams.
Or is there a other way to make the dell 3040 use headsets as default thats better?
I don’t know about ThinOS 9 but using ThinOS 8.6_606, there is no need to disable SST (or HD) audio ; when you plug an USB headset, it becomes the default automatically.
8.6_710 is flawed. This problem occurred before. This is regression in 710
BTW when I use an USB headset the sound is correct.
When I use build-in SST through an analog headset the microphone is awfully saturated.
Just like if “boost” was selected, but is not. If I select it, it’s even worse.
I was crestfallen when I saw that after you apply the 8.6_710 firmware a user selected audio device no longer sticks after a reboot. I have tested this and its true. Reverts to SST Audio every time. It was fixed in 8.6_606_20 firmware that I got from Dell support. Now its back to being broken. I just don’t understand what is going on over there…
