Hello,
I am currently testing WMS Standard Edition.
At the moment the Wyse thin clients are configured manually. We add the user and the domain name to the Remote Desktop Connection, so when the user starts his work in the morning the RDP session opens automatically and he just needs to enter his password.
Now I want to set the RDP connection through WMS policies, but I discovered that after registering the thin-client to WMS it performs a Factory Reset. If I set the username again locally, it will be overwritten by the policy and will be empty again after the next restart. The user will then have to type in username and password everytime.
Is there a way to allow local changes in the settings without overwriting them or set the username through policies?
I would like to keep the configuration as it is, just automate it, if possible.
Thanks in advance.
Check your policies. I guess there is a username=„“ in it. This will overwrite you locally saved username.
Either get rid of this or try to add $un as a value in the policy.

Thanks for the advice.
Actually the username is not configured. Only the RDS Name/IP, Domain and Description is set.
The username is configured manually on the client.
If the variable “$un” is added to the policy, will this read the locally configured Username? Or what is the purpose / where will WMS read the username from?
Is there a list with the variables that can be used?
Or a guide/document for configuring policies that include the username for every thin-client?
Can you please post the config here? (ThinOS-System Tools-WMS INI)
