WMS FileServer settings needed

Hallo Zusammen,

bisher haben wir die Konfiguration der Wyse ThinClients rein über INI Dateien auf einem FTP Server / Verzeichnis gehandhabt.

Wir stellen jetzt auf WMS um. Die ersten Clients haben wir zum Test händisch eingerichtet und jeweils eine feste IP Adresse vergeben Somit wird die Konfig nicht über den DHCP gezogen.

Da ich keinen Dateiserver angeben habe (warum auch!), kommt es beim starten des Clients immer zu einer 120 sekündiger Wartezeit bis er in den Timeout läuft.

Jetzt meine Fragen:

1) braucht man den Dateiserver überhaupt noch (bzw. das FTP Verzeichnis)

2) wenn nein, kann man die Abfrage zum Dateiserver irgendwie verhindern

3) wenn ja, wie richtet man das sinnvoll für den WDS ein – brauche ich da weiterhin einen FTP Server oder kann man das auch per https realisieren (habe hier in den Dokumentationen nicht wirklich Hilfe gefunden.)

until now we handled the configuration of the Wyse ThinClients via INI files on an FTP server / path.

We are now switching to WMS. We have set up the first clients manually as a test and assigned a fixed IP address to each one, so the config is not pulled via DHCP.

Because I didn’t specify a file server (why should I?!), the client wait up to 120 seconds at start up until it runs in a timeout.

Now my questions:

1) do I still need the file server at all (or the FTP directory)?

2) if not, can I somehow prevent the query to the file server?

3) if yes, how do I set this up for the WDS – do I still need an FTP server or can I do this via https (didn’t really find any help in the documentation).
