Hey Everyone –
We put together a small RDS farm to manage about 30 scoreboards, using Dell 3040 Thin Clients running ThinOS 8.6. We have a monthly vulnerability scan our Infosec team mandates that keeps dropping the devices to a https:// anonymous login screen. I’m trying to get exclusions for said devices, without much luck. Our Infosec folks are asking me to enable SNMP to help identify the devices better for exclusions. I don’t really see any documentation around that other than using a WNOS.INI file. Can I add the configuration directly to the “Advanced” section under Advanced Configurations Group? Or is anyone aware of a different way to achieve this?
Thanks!
Greetings! Have you referenced the Dell Wyse ThinOS Version 8.6 INI Reference Guide located at https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/thinos_8_6_ig_en-us.pdf? There is several INI settings to enable and use SNMP.
Jim
Hi Jim,
Thanks for the reply. I did read through the INI reference guide. We use WMS and we don’t currently use a WNOS.ini file. That’s really my question – Do I have to reconfigure WMS totally to use the commands in that reference, or can I put those commands into the advanced configuration fields within WMS. The reference I read said “for wnos.ini files only”, so I wasn’t sure.
Thanks!
Jeremy
