I currently have 10 Winterm S10 devices 5 of them were received before the last 5. The first 5 connect and have no problems while the last 5 will continually disconnect from the computer they are connecting to. I have verified it is not the connected and I have swapped the non working unit with a working unit for testing. I have contacted tech support they told me get the firmware from the working unit and put it on the non working unit. They will not reply when I asked them how. I am very new to these devices and can find no way to copy a flash to or from them. If anyone here have any suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.

    For reference
    working version is 5.0.013f
    non working version is 5.0.013.4f

    Hi,

Here is a doc on upgrading the firmware and also newer 5.0 code:

    http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/site/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=95&ttitle=How_to_Upgrade_firmware_of_WTOS_.pdf

You will need to create a wnos folder on a ftp server but is you read this site you will see that I always recommend deploying S10’s this way. The text file management is one of the best things about this OS.

    Cheers,

Thank you for the reply, but how can I get a copy of the firmware from the Winterm that is working so that I apply it to the ones that do not work?

    Hi ktit,

The download I linked above has some newer firmware for you to use on it (and will fix the issue) – with WTOS you do not take an image from a unit as they are stateless. That is the configuration changes you make are not stored in the image.

So, upgrade the firmware and re-apply the configuration from the wnos.ini or GUI,

    Cheers,
