Hardware:
Wyse S30
Windows CE.Net
Problem:
When using the S30 for pure terminal emulation, the mouse is not needed. Even when disconnected, the mouse pointer shows up on the screen. Because no mouse is connected, the mouse pointer can not be moved.
Question:
Is there a way to disable the mouse on the CE devices? We don’t want to include a mouse with the terminal, as it will never be used, and the pointer covers up an important field for our users.
Solution:
ftp://ftp-us.wyse.com/Pub/Support/firmware/CE/ADDOns/NoMouse/NoMouse.zip
Give this a try. It’s from Wyse but has to be applied via FTP not WDM.
ftp://ftp-us.wyse.com/Pub/Support/firmware/CE/ADDOns/NoMouse/NoMouse.zip
That did the trick! Thanks a ton for the link!
Hardware Wyse S30
Windows CE 6.0 Wyse WFR2 Build (656)
New to Wyse s30.
Downloaded and ftp’d nomouse.zip to S30.
does not work.
Please let me know what else to try.
This is because the addon was written for CE5 and not CE6.
Do you also have the mousepointer visible when no mouse is connected?
CG
I was afraid of that. The mouse pointer is visible even under the following:
no mouse attached
no keyboard attached
a non-wyse keyboard with no mouse port is attached.
Talked to Wyse Tech Support and they said I would have to request the no mouse pointer as a new feature and that the request would have to go through the vendor I purchased the wyse s30 from.
Looks like this is the only way.
