    Hello all,

    We’re in the process of deploying about 400 Wyse Z90D7 terminals to several schools. Each school is on its own subnet with a metro connection back to our data center housing our WDM Workgroup 4.8.5 server. We’re attempting to use WDM to automate the initial set up of these devices and have been successful in doing so until recently when it just stopped working.

    Our older terminals are Xeniths and since we don’t really see any advantage in having them registered in WDM we removed all of them and told them not to register via the xen.ini and wnos.ini files. Once that was done we imported the information for the rest of our Z90’s totaling 409 devices. We then scheduled our software package to these devices so that it would be executed on first boot when the field techs started their unboxing at the schools. I went on site for the first 10 devices to see how things went and the first 9 devices performed exactly as expected. From that point forward none of the devices were registering.

    I noticed the WDM applet in the control panel on the terminal did not have the IP of the WDM server populated. We already have DHCP options 186 and 192 in place and they were obviously working before.

    I removed all of the imported devices to see if they would register in WDM on startup and none of them will. I even went as far as completely reinstalling WDM and IIS which didn’t work. Then I created an entirely new server with the same IP (offlined the old one of course) and installed IIS and WDM making sure I followed the installation guide carefully. IIS was installed using the provided bat files with the WDM bits. I have also modified the maximum URL length settings in IIS which was required previously to get the Z90’s to register. That had no effect.
    I do see the devices talking to the server in the IIS logs:

    2011-11-08 22:25:04 172.30.80.33 GET /hserver.dll &V99|&IMAC=0080649A7309||WFE=1|WF=1| 80 – 172.30.10.202 – 200 0 0 1

    I’m pretty much lost now. At this point no new Z90’s will register in WDM and I have no idea why.

    I’ve thoroughly searched this forum and have found a lot of good advice but unfortunately not a resolution.

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

    Dewayne

    Which version of HAgent is running on the Z90? Wyse has released a new agent on their website.

    WDM HAgent: 6.0.0.24

    I know they released a newer version recently but at least some of these devices were working at some point.

    I would upgrade and try again. This Hagent version is known to be buggy.
