Hi, I am very new when it comes to WDM, WMS, Wyse. I currently have WDM version 5.0 Build 636 installed with 50 devices. I also have WMS web based with 100 devices. I would like to migrate the WDM devices to WMS. I downloaded WMS_Import_Tool_1_5_0_19.exe from Dell and it is stating that I need to be on version 5.7.2. I am not sure where to get that version update from. Can someone point me in the correct direction?

December 3, 2020 at 11:47 pm #53729The import tool will not help here.
Make sure to install the latest available WDA agent on all clients as the first step.
Are you using DHCP/DNS to point the clients to WDM or WMS?CG
December 4, 2020 at 7:10 pm #53735Not sure how I confirm the latest WDA agent, I am very new to these.
I believe they are using DHCP to point to WDM.
December 8, 2020 at 2:00 pm #53744Check on the client itself. There you can find it either in the Systemtray or in the Control Panel – Installed Apps.

December 9, 2020 at 5:08 pm #53765this is far too old.
Download a newer WMS Agent (WDA) from support.dell.com and install it on the client.CG
December 17, 2020 at 4:41 pm #53862I was able to install the WDA update on and successfully moved it to WMS.
Is there a way for me to push the client out to all the devices from WDM or do I have to do each client individually?
December 21, 2020 at 12:18 pm #53886As WDM was able to push packages you should be able to create one and push it to all clients.

December 21, 2020 at 3:04 pm #53898I see the packages for the older software but I am not seeing how to create a new package and add it to WDM. Is there a guide somewhere on your site for the steps?
December 21, 2020 at 5:47 pm #53905To add to my above question. If I work in the package manager from what I am reading it is best to do a Device Image rather than a software package.
I try to get an image from a device but get hit with a license issue.
If I ‘Register a Configuration from a Device’ from the New Package Wizard the device I would like to use doesn’t appear and I an unable to use the search Criteria function.
I also attempted to create an .rsp witht eh ScriptBuilder Utility and saved it but when I go to my test device and run the Package Distribution Wizard, the .rsp I created doesn’t appear and only a single device shows in the ‘List of Devices’.
December 21, 2020 at 6:17 pm #53906Well I feel I might be getting closer, I found in Package Manager > Agent Update I can use the Package Wizard to Register a Package. I went through the steps but it didn’t show up under Agent Update.
December 22, 2020 at 4:49 pm #53917It doesn’t matter in which category the package appears. This is just for your reference, nothing more.
