I am running WDM 4.8.5 on Server 2008 R2 with IIS 7.5. The problem I am having is that the 1200LE devices do not connect to the WDM server and check in properly to get an image. V10Ls seem to work fine without a problem. On the 1200LEs I am seeing that correct Rapport server listed, but for file server it has the DHCP server. If I manually code the information in the 1200LE will get an image, but will not check in. Any thoughts?
February 14, 2012 at 4:40 pm #21796We have the same issue. What appears to be happening is that the 1200LEs are trying to check-in but IIS is misinterpreting their connection parameters. They use an HTTP PUT verb/method to connect to hserver.dll. IIS is replying with:
Bad Request Bad Request – Invalid Verb
HTTP Error 400. The request verb is invalid.
We have tried removing everything (including IIS and SQL) and re-installing. We have even tried re-installing on server 2003 with IIS 6. Nothing seems to fix this issue. We have installed based on the Installation Guide for 4.8.5. We think that either IIS 7.5 is blocking this request for some reason, or it is breaking at the # symbol in the hserver.dll connection command (the SN#) parameter causing the connection string to be split and the http parser failing. Can anyone shed light on this?
Thank you.
February 15, 2012 at 9:42 pm #21805WT1200LE are not supported with actual WDM versions.
But on the other hand I do not really understand why use WDM along with WTOS devices. There is no real benefit in using WDM beside the inventory.CG
March 2, 2012 at 3:49 pm #21872One correction. 1200LE can check in to WDM 4.8.5 as long as WDM is running on Server 2003.
IIS 7 is not supported.CG

Hello,
I have the same issue (will soon have the same issue)
My WDM server is running Windows server 2003 with IIS 6 and i want to upgrade this to 2008 R2 and the newest IIS version. So essentially this would mean that i lose control over all my 1200LE devices? This is quite important for me as it’s used for inventory and it’s sort of a way to have control over our devices…
My main issue is that i have quite a lot of .ini files in my configuration and i am wondering if this will stop working when i upgrade my IIS server?
March 9, 2012 at 12:33 pm #21919As soon as you upgrade your server to IIS7 (Windows 2008 R2) none of the old 1200LE units will be able to check in to WDM anymore.

July 3, 2012 at 12:20 pm #22525Just for information, i have tested Win2008 R2 IIS 7 with WDM 4.9.1 and the old WTOS 1200 LE devices are not checking in but they are getting the .ini files properly.
So we have decided that it’s a good enough solution until we can get rid of all the old devices.
