This may be a long shot, but is it possible to use a USB WiFi adapter/dongle with the Wyse 5070 or 3040 models running ThinOS? We have many units that were purchased without the onboard wireless option currently sitting idle; adding WiFi would allow us to put many back into service. If it is possible, are there any recommendations for a reliable model or chipset?

Apologies in advance if this has been posted/answered before, I didn’t have any luck searching for an answer.

We had one USB adapter in the past. However, the adapter is no longer available and support has been removed. So, no way to get any USB WIFI adapter running on ThinOS.
The only way would be to use a WIFI bridge. That gets attached to the RJ45 network port and simulates a normal network connection to the client.

Thanks for the answer Thomas.  By the way, your site is a great resource, I often come here for answers and almost always find what I need without asking. When I do ask, I receive answers; it’s exceptional!
