I am trying to connect an Ambir ImageScan Pro 490i scanner to a Dell Wyse 5212 thin client with little luck. I am connecting to a microsoft terminal server using RDP. This is what is showing up in the event log when I attach the device.

USB: Found a new 480 Mbps device “WYSE VUSB” on port 7

In the device viewer, it is showing up as:

    USB Bus
    EHCI Root Hub
    WYSE VUSB [Vid_1DCC Pid_4811]

I currently use MAC files to configure individual machines. What settings would I need to add to the file to ensure that the terminal server will recognize this device?

To map a USB scanner in a virtual session you would need full USB redirection with session security.
RDP does not have this option at the moment.

What type of session could this possible work in? I am also looking to add bar code scanners and Imprivata to our environment as well. Could there be potential issues with those?

Barcode scanner and Imprivata isn’t an issue at all.
Imprivata works with tap&go reader (RFID). Fingerprint and cams are not supported at the moment.

“Session” has to be a virtulized client OS like Win7 or Win8(.1).
