ConfGen–   I have 16 5010 Thin clients on Firmware 8.1_027  I’m looking to upgrade to 8.6, but the firmware merlin OS files on Dell’s site do not contain the .rsp file necessary for the USB imaging tool to push the image to my thumb drive.  Is there an archive or download of a prior firmware that will RDP into a Windows Server 2016 VM that will work on my old 5010 client?

    Many thanks!

There is no RDP file needed. There is an x-mal file included and you can use that.

Thanks CG! I tired the XML file with versions 3.1 and 3.3 of the USB imaging tool, and it says that it isn’t compatible with a 64 bit architecture.  Maybe an earlier version of the tool since these clients are legacy?

    Really appreciate your help!

I love it when the autocorrection changes my whole answer, but you still know what I mean 🙂
    Have you tried with 32-bit?

It worked with 32 bit.  The reason it wouldn’t is I had images from 5070 clients on the same USB drive I was trying to image my 5010 OS files to.  Maybe that will save someone else some grief! Thank you for all your help and knowledge on this forum!!! I now have 8.6 on my 5010 client!
