Hi trying to upgrade to WDM 4.5.2 and it is requesting an SA password for the rapport Data base.
Our database has no password, is there a default password that Wyse use?
January 29, 2008 at 1:20 pm #11503Hi,
it is “ThinMgmt”.
Regards
CGJanuary 29, 2008 at 2:24 pm #11504😯 That´s really amazing. 😯
The german WYSE-SUPPORT wasn´t able to tell me this.
They said “There is no password” !👿
I installed the damn WDM completely new because of that !
👿I love this forum (nevertheless this answer came to late)
😛January 29, 2008 at 2:27 pm #11505You always should ask the good site of the force
The Jedis know their stuff. At least most of the time 😉CG

January 29, 2008 at 3:01 pm #11507BTW, just to make this thread complete as a reference:
When upgrading WDM pre 4.5.1 SR1 releases the password is “ThinMgmt”.
For WDM 4.5.1 SR1 or WDM 4.5.2 upgrades the password is “ThinMgmt_451”Cheers
CGJanuary 29, 2008 at 11:31 pm #11517Thanks ConfGen I’ll give it a go I think I will move the database to SQL2005 after the upgrade however, that way the DB will be held with everything else and prevent future password issues, yes we have the enterprise edition.

August 27, 2008 at 12:27 am #13754I’m going to recycle this topic. I’ve got the SAME issue here trying to upgrade from 4.5.1 to 4.5.3.
While upgrading the application, I get to the database portion and it tries to upgrade. It tells me that the database is password protected and I need to enter the password for the SA account. I entered both ThinMgmt and ThinMgmt_451 and neither seemed to do the trick.
I’m running 4.5.1 (not the SR1 release) on Windows 2k3. The backend database is stored on a SQL box (enterprise).
I thought it would upgrade using the Rapport user, which is a db owner. But it’s looking for the sa password to do the upgrade. It’s going to make my upgrade MUCH more complex if I have to get the SA account to do this, so I’d like to find a way around it.
Does anyone know which account it is using? I’m should have administrator rights to the database — is there a way I can change this password to get through the install?
4.5.1 is driving me crazy and I need to move to .3 for some of the fixes that have been introduced! I appreciate any help. Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I felt it went well with the OPs question!
August 27, 2008 at 1:24 am #13755Well most odd!!!
I would suspect that it is trying to connect to the SQL server using SA and you most likley have this accuont disabled.
Perhaps you can allow this account while you are installing it??
Sorry I can’t be of any more assistance right now.

September 19, 2008 at 8:24 pm #13934Keep in mind WDM can only set the Default password for the MSDE instance it installs…
IF you guys loaded the DB on your production/existing SQL server, WDM doesn’t know the password and can’t reset the SA account. Check with your DBA for the SA password. The same passwords noted by CG are for the Rapport account regardless of the SQL server in use.
As for TS…seriously, who listens to TS, we’re fortunate to have a site like this for help…I never call TS. I’d just as soon milk a cow to gauge the futures market for oil prices…
