Hi,
We use two different kinds of RFID readers on ThinOS clients, and they have worked as a HID device on ThinOS up to and including 8.6_013, but on 8.6_019, both readers crash the client immediately when connected.
Both readers are identified as a “usbhid” device, USB: SYC ID&IC USB Reader, and connected as VUSB: Local Device (0xffff,0x0035,0x03,0x01,0x01)
Anybody else experiencing this?
Are there supported RFID readers for ThinOS?
I have opened a ticket with Dell Wyse support about this issue, to hopefully get the readers I have working in a future ThinOS release, but I am also looking for practical experience with different RFID tag/badge readers.
We received a Demo/Beta firmware from Dell that solved the issue, but it is not yet fixed in 8.6_024 Public release.
We are experiencing “I/O Error” pop-ups when trying to tap in on random RFIdea readers. A reboot of the ThinOS 8.6_019 resolves it for awhile.
Test 8.6_024. I think it is fixed there.
