Hi,
I noticed the other day when I upgraded to WMS 3.5.1 and now 2 and had the latest ThinOS 9.1.5 that the thin clients were not getting there names from DHCP option 12. I started rolling the ThinOS back and it finally started working at 9.1.3. Once I upgrade to 9.1.4 the thin clients stop receiving their name. I tested this on both a 3040 and a 5070. Could anyone else confirm if its working for them? Make sure to unregister and reset them other wise they will remember their names.
I just wanted to update you that Dells escalation team reproduced my issue while I was on the phone with them.
Hi,
I’ve also this issue since ThinOS 9.1.4234 and now with 9.1.5067
https://technicalhelp.de/topic/new-thinos-9-1-4234-issues/
Whatever I tried (factory reset, Merlin image, step by step upgrade from 8.6) as soon as I upgrade to 9.1.4 my thin clients lose their custom host name, they always get back to the factory host name a couple of minute after the upgrade.
So no ThinOS 9.1.4 or 9.1.5 production deployment for me for the moment…
Hello,
sorry I can’t help you with your problem, but I would be interested in how exactly it works with hostname over DHCP in the Dell manual, it is not really well described. Would it be possible to automatically assign a host name of my choice before entering the registration key?
Thanks
regards,
