    Hi,

I have a WYSE V90 client. If I log on as a User the desktop
    is almost locked.

    1. As a User, I can’t right click on a program on the taskbar and choose
    “close alt+f4”

    2. As a User, I can’t resize the taskbar. I would like to have it one linie
    larger.

If I logon as Administrator there is no problem. How I can make it possible for the user? Which registry key do I have to change/create? The run command is removed from the User interface, but not from the Administrator, so as an Administrator I can run REGEDIT

    Hi Peter,

    Try this:

    – Log in admin and create a shortcut to regedit in the C:documents and settingsuserdesktop folder

    – Log in as user and open regedyt and export the HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrent Versionpolicy hive to the desktop and call it backup.

    – Delete every key under HKCUSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrent Versionpolicy and log off and on again as the default user

    – The desktop is now unlocked, tweak away!

    – When finished double click the backup.reg you created on the desktop to lock the profile down again.

    I hope this helps!

    Cheers,
    -TT

    Hi TT,

    Thanks for your answer.

The User can now right click on the taskbar, and resize the taskbar to for example 5 rows. But when the User restarts, the taskbar is again 1 row. Is it possible to USer changes permanent for the Taskbar?

    Hi Peter,

I am in the proccess of writing a doc on advanced deployment of XPe but in the mean time make sure you read this guide:

    http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/site/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=32&ttitle=Wyse_9000_-_Administrators_Evaluation_Guide.pdf

You can also use Rapport (its free) to push out packages hands free, search for the installing rapport artical on this site and see the downloads under Rapport and XPe for demo packages. This should get you up and running.

If you need more just ask!

    Cheers,
    -TT
