Hi,
Does anyone know when support for optimaztion for Microsoft Teams will be added to ThinOS?
September 24, 2019 at 1:02 pm #50811I’m thinking of support for this,
https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/multimedia/opt-ms-teams.html
But we can conclude that there is currently no support for MS Teams optimization on ThinOS?
September 25, 2019 at 10:00 am #50817Teams is currently not supported. There are plans. Maybe we see it next year.

April 15, 2020 at 3:20 pm #52114Hi,
any news about Teams Optimization?
April 16, 2020 at 4:20 pm #52121Citrix released a brand new Workspace App for Linux. Even with this one, Teams optimization is still limited to audio-only. No webcam or screen sharing included.

May 14, 2020 at 1:57 pm #52271I bought a lot of Dell Wyse thinclients with ThinOs because RTME suuport Skype for business audio and video conferencing, now there are no support for TEAMS videoconferencing and I have to throw them away because there are no expectations to support TEAMS in the near future.
It has been difficult to explain to my boss.
Seeing how the market has evolved I think thinos is going to hell, I wish notMay 14, 2020 at 2:06 pm #52272Teams will come.
Who told you that it won’t come?CG
May 14, 2020 at 3:29 pm #52273I will pray for it to come!!

May 14, 2020 at 5:22 pm #52274Believe me. It’s coming soon. At least Audio optimization. Video is still not available from Citrix.
But, this will follow soon.CG
May 15, 2020 at 4:39 pm #52275Hi. What about Audio and Video optimization for Zoom?
It doesn’t work with RTME, but Zoom offers a plugin: https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/360031096531-Getting-Started-with-VDI
Do you know if there is coming something soon?
May 20, 2020 at 2:54 pm #52285We also waiting for Teams or at least Zoom.
With ThinOS9 they finally got to Workspace Version 1912 and hopefully after Citrix deploys a fully supported Linux Client DELL will adopt it very quickly.
Zooms would be also nice and as there is a plugin for IGEL there should be one for DELL either.
To sum this up it seems a better way to go with Windows Based Thinclients in the future for a quick support of new features.
May 20, 2020 at 4:35 pm #52292ThinOS 9 has been recreated from the base. This way we can now very easily and fast integrate the latest and greatest features from Citrix as soon as they release them.
I have already played with the new 2004 release which supports Teams audio. It is not confirmed, but I expect it to be released in the upcoming MR1 release.CG
September 18, 2020 at 9:53 am #53080Hi ConfGen,
Is there any further development for MS Teams optimization on ThinOS9, specifically around video calls?
As you say I can see audio is supported.

September 23, 2020 at 4:53 pm #53107Audio and video is supported with CWA 2006. However, I highly recommend a 5070 Pentium when using full UC.
Audio will work on a 3040 also, but do not try video. This will not work satisfactorily.CG
September 24, 2020 at 4:11 pm #53143Zoom is OK (audio /video ) over bare-bone RDP to W2019 RDSH.
We had a few crashs of 5010s. Seem OK on 5070. (both are running ThinOS 8.6)
We’re missing camera adjustment from within the W2019 session.
We can change resolution and frame rate on the Wyse but it is not propagated to the RDP sesssion. Once the RDP session is open the “camera” tab of the ThinOS is greyed out and the camera is at max resolution. So, don’t use 4k cameras…
