    Hello all.

    I am new here and as of late been give the charge of being admin of our WDM server. We are in the process of moving towards a DDC solution using (Merlin) HTTPS. The current set up is ftp with each of the 4000 clients using its own INI file. Currently we are condensing this by going out to each facility and manually putting in the new FTP path to point the Thin Clients to one of four different INI files before we switch on DDC. What I’m trying to figure out is that is there a way to remote to a Thin Client after it has been factory reset and put the new FTP path. The would save me a great deal of time and man hours. Currently we have 3010 3020 3030 and C10LE Thin Clients.

    Thanks

    You can use VNC to remote control your clients.
    Just add
    MaxVNCD=1
    VNCpassword=password
    to your wnos.ini to enable access.

    Maybe I did not explain this correctly. The thin client would not have a config because it has been factory reset and connected to any WNOS.ini file. Is there to remote to ThinOS and type in a new ftp path?

    You have to activate VNC via wnos.ini. No way to remote in the client without any central config.
    However, maybe you can create a DNS alias named “Wyseftpfbc4tc” that points to a central ftp server with one wnos.ini which contains the VNC parameters.
    That way all clients that have been resetted will read in this wnos.ini and you can then remote in and alter whatever you need.

    Thanks for the idea. I will let you know if it works.
