Hi all, we’ve recently gone live with a new WS 2016 environment (Hyper-V with two VM’s – DC and RDS). Most of our users have Wyse 5070’s running W10 IoTE, however two users have older Wyse 5040 all-in-ones running ThinOS.

Having this issue where the two 5040’s are simultaneously disconnecting from the RDS server at 40 minutes past the hour, every hour yet the 5070’s are fine – no interruptions. 5040’s were running 8.1 so we upgraded them to 8.6_206 using the upgrade path Dell specified on their website however still experiencing this issue. I’ve gone through all scheduled tasks and event viewer logs on the server but unable to find what may be causing this. Thought it may have been a time issue, so synchronised server & terminals to the same NTP server but alas, no luck.

Just wondering if there’s anyone else out there who may have experienced this, or can offer some advice? Thanks!

Do you see anything in the Server eventlog?
    Anything in the ThinOS eventlog?

Hey CG, nothing in server event log or ThinOS event log. It’s as if the RDP sessions are being “disconnected” server side but nothing logged to indicate why.

I had a similar behavior with deploying an RDS2016 environment – and in the end the fix was to disable UDP in the RDS connection INI (EnabledUDP=no).

    Might be something to check.

    Worth a shot.

Also there’s a typo in the command above – which you may have spotted already – but it’s EnableUDP and not EnabledUDP

Thanks. Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to fix it for me either. I think we’ll just replace these units with W10 IoTE ones unless anyone else has any suggestions?
