Can anyone tell me how to change the default port for terminal services using a S50? Please be simple with me i have never used a thin client before… Normally with RDP client for windows you just put servername:port
this doesnt seem to work
Help? please?
August 26, 2007 at 6:43 pm #10052I am pretty sure ip:port will work. Maybe you have an old RDP client or old firmware.
Check the versions (Control Panel-Addons for RDP and Control Panel-System for firmware version)ConfGen
April 28, 2008 at 10:12 am #12829V50 Version 6.2.1 Build 32 (OS 2.6.14.3)
The user interface does not accept servername:port or IP:port when edit/add a RDP-connection (Servername invalid)
ICA neither.
If you do it in the wnos.ini, it works, but you cannot edit this local.
April 28, 2008 at 10:23 am #12832If you do not use a wlx.ini or wnos.ini then you can pull the config of the device using WDM, edit the pull_config.conf file and change it there. Then push it back to all units.
Works fine. But do not use Notepad or similar as it will change the text format from Unix to DOS and this would kill all settings on your unit.April 28, 2008 at 11:37 am #12835But this does not help, if you would like to setup a connection with a non-standard-port on a standalone device ad hoc … hope, this (wrong) GUI field check will be removed sometime
April 28, 2008 at 11:54 am #12836Hi,
I would also note the firmware you have is quite old so it would be worth trying to update it and see if this helps,
Cheers,

July 9, 2008 at 1:35 pm #13468This is definitely an issue with the connection manager as the underlying rdesktop software fully supports servername[:port] syntax. Is there any word that Wyse plans on making this correction to the connection manager?
July 9, 2008 at 1:57 pm #13469You should open a call with Wyse. Without someone asking for it there is no need for them to change it.
BTW, Wyse will release a complete new Linux this year.CG
July 9, 2008 at 2:09 pm #13472I’ll be sure to do that.
