I am very new to Wyse thin clients. I have a V10L. I currently have 6.2.0_08 and have downloaded 6.3.0_12 from the site although noticed there was no _boot file that looks like i need but found something on the net. not sure if i can use any or not.
I am running IIS ftp server from my windows 7 pc and have put the files in a wyse/wnos directory
I am pretty sure I have things configured right but am having issues getting the download to happen. If i click on system info and the events i see 24: cannot access system profile and am guessing this is the issue.
Can anyone help me out?
Thanks.February 28, 2010 at 2:19 pm #17808
And I am pretty sure you have configured anything right. Otherwise it would work. 😉
OK, what have you entered in the Fileserver field on the V10L? What FTP user have you configured on the V10L?
Is the wysewnos folder directly in the ftproot?

For the fileserver field I have entered my ip of my pc running the ftp server – 192.168.1.175
I have created a username of – wyseftp and a password of wyse
the wyse/wnos folder is in the root of thsftp server so if you were to put in ftp://192.168.1.175 you would see the contents of wysewnos which is the VL10_boot and VL10_wnos with the wnos.ini file in there.
Is this setup correctly so far?February 28, 2010 at 7:59 pm #17810
Ok, after doing some digging and some trial and error I have figured it out.February 28, 2010 at 8:05 pm #17811
So only the path /wyse was missing in your Fileserver entry.

Yes that is correct. Didn’t know you werent supposed to put /wnosFebruary 28, 2010 at 10:32 pm #17814
/wnos is hardcoded but /wyse isn’t.

I am working on some Wyse V10L clients with the 6.2.0_08 firmware, and found the 6.3.0_12 image file (VL10_wnos) from this site, however, it appears the VL10_boot file is also needed. I am running into the Panic:VIA:Sync timeout EIP 0x0 error when users try to resize an IE window on a training website, so am thinking a firmware upgrade may be in order.
I tried https://technicalhelp.de/products/1000/VL10_boot which was listed on another forum page on this site, but that link has expired.
Can anyone advise? Thanks!May 5, 2010 at 3:53 pm #18285
We are not sharing any firmware in this forum. Please contact Wyse to get updated code.
