Hi,
My current setup is I’m using Wyse 3010 terminals for RDS connections. User enter credentials on terminal and it will auto connect them to Remote Desktop Services 2012R2 session desktop. We want to deploy Cisco softphone OR Jabber client to login and make and receive calls. The headsets being used are Plantronics APU75.
The issue is when user login to RDS session desktop, the sound in the device manager shows as Remote Audio and there is no microphone. If I configure RDP file with remote audio connection enabled, then users can see the audio and microphone, but the issue with RDP file is I’ll have to publish it and configure it in wnos.ini to autoconnect when users enter credentials in Wyse terminal. For some reason, the RDP files are connecting automatically, but users are again prompted to enter credentials.
I’ve even configured audio and video redirection through group policies.
Could someone please assist on this to resolve my sound and microphone issue.
If you need more information, please let me know
Thanks much.

June 26, 2017 at 2:45 pm #44673Hi Thomas,
Thanks for your response. I’ve now managed to enable audio in remote published RDS destkop session, but the microphone is still disabled. I’ve changed my ini file to disable autosignoff and then checked the properties of my RDS session, and in the Options tab, the RDP Audio recording is still set to “Do not record” despite adding RDPAudioRecord=yes in different locations in ini file.
If I change the rdp settings manually and select the radio button “Record from Local” then remote mic is also available and I can make calls from Jabber client, but with severe latency in the voice reaching the other side. Audio is absolutely fine though. So if you could also help me boosting the mic and clearing the voice, then that’s much appreciated.
Below is my WNOS.ini file for your reference. Please let me know if you need any other information.
Thanks much

June 27, 2017 at 4:26 pm #44683Hi Thomas,
You are a star!! Works like a charm. But there is a severe delay in the voice from mic, it takes good 6 – 7 seconds fro the sound to reach the other party. Also there is a bit of disturbance in the line. Is there a way to rectify this please?
Thanks much
July 4, 2017 at 8:55 pm #44709Not 100% sure but I guess this is because there is no RTME equivalent in a RDP environment.

August 5, 2019 at 11:13 pm #50495Hi
I have a XenApp farm and trying to map a usb microphone into my desktop session from a Wyse device with firmware 8.0. Sound on the headset works fine but the microphone part does not work. Any particular setting I might be missing to get the microphone to map into an ICA session. Your help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
August 6, 2019 at 11:38 am #50508No, nothing special.

2. I guess you should remove this
3. Modify “VUSB_AUDIO=yes VUSB_VIDEO=yes” to “VUSB_AUDIO=no VUSB_VIDEO=no”CG
March 17, 2021 at 10:27 am #96488Hello,
We are running on Wyse 3040’s with ThinOS 8.6_206 everywhere connected to a Microsoft RDS Broker and RDS servers environment installed with Windows Server 2016. We do not make use of WNOS.INI nor WMS to manage Wyse settings.
So all staff use TS Gateway from Wyse box to connect to our broker and session servers.
We want to allow the microphone of a 3-pin headset pass through to our RDS servers from the Wyse box. There’s an option in the RDP connection created from Wyse connection manager, which we found labelled as “RDP Audio playback – Play on remote computer”.
When enabling this, is this supposed to pass the 3-pin headset where audio jack is connected to the port in the 3040 through to RDS 2016 server and hence enabling the microphone on the user profile?
Please advise.
Thank you.
Regards,
Lsavripen

That is correct
