    Hmm, I am not sure if this has been implemented on Wyse Linux as it is on WTOS.

    ConfGen, do you know if it has?

    Cheers,

    I am not 100% sure but I think to remember that you just have to put the mac.ini file in the /wlx folder directly. No /wlx/ini subfolder is needed.

    Thanks that sort of works, if I have a mac.ini in the wlx, the S50 will load the mac.ini file instead of the wlx.ini file, this is fine but. I’m having problems with my ini file.
    here is my ini file

    autoload=2

    DesktopTaskbar=Bottom
    Desktop.DisableChanges=yes
    Bootorder=HNN
    keyboard=us_intl
    Language=en_US.UTF-8
    Resolution=1024×768
    DeskColor=”0 0 0″
    Screensaver=0
    Timeserver=ntp1.xxxxxxxxx.com.au
    Timeformat=”12-hour format”
    TimeZone=”AEDT” ManualOverride=yes Daylight=yes
    EthernetSpeed=”Auto”
    SignOn=No
    VncPasswd=xxxxxxx
    UsePasswd=1
    VncPrompt=1

    connect=ica
    icon=default
    browserip=citrix2.xxxxxx.com.au
    application=”Community Houses Desktop”
    fullscreen=yes
    autoconnect=yes
    Reconnect=5

    Printer=LPD Name=ricoh161 Host=192.168.105.250 Queue=”lp” enabled=yes

    very simple setup, just runs a full desk top session from a citrix server.
    the problem is the S50 will not create the printer.

    I must be donning something wrong, but I can’t see it 🙂

    Hi,

    You printer string is incorrect, you will need the ModelID= where the ID is the exact name of the print driver you have loaded in Citrix. So if you were using a “HP JaserJet 4M” your string would look like this:

    Printer=LPD Name=PR01 ModelID=”HP JaserJet 4M” Host=192.168.105.250 Queue=”lp” enabled=yes

    ConfGen can assist in creating these strings as well.

    Finally, check the Presentation Server event logs for errors. This will indicate if the driver is available to load on the auto created printer or if there was a different issue with the printer creation,

    Cheers,

    I’m having a lot of trouble with this. 🙁 I’m trying to work out what is the right format for the ini file.

    I’ve added the following lines to my ini file.

    Printer=LPD Name=PR01 ModelID=”HP JaserJet 4M” Host=172.28.3.31 Queue=”lp3″ enabled=yes

    NetworkPrinter=LPD Host=172.28.3.31 Queue=”lp1″ ModelID=”” Enabled=yes

    JetDirectPrinter=172.28.3.31 Name=”cccc” ModelID=”” Enabled=yes EnabledLPD=yes

    Printer=USB Name=HP3055 ModelID=”” Queue=”lp” Enabled=yes

    Printer=USB Name=HP3055-2 ModelID=”” Queue=”lp2″ Enabled=yes

    The only printers that get created on the thin client are the 2 USB printers, none of the network printers get created.

    any ideas?

    Try something like this:

    Printer=USB Name=”First” ModelID=”HP LaserJet 4″ Enabled=yes
    Printer=LPD Name=Second Host=1.1.1.1 Queue=”lp3″ ModelID=”HP LaserJet 5″ Enabled=yes
    JetDirectPrinter=1.1.1.1 Name=”Third” ModelID=”HP LaserJet 6″ Enabled=yes

    The option ModelID has to be entered all the time and it has to be the Windows driver name. Otherwise no mapping will happen.

    What OS version are you using?

    Thanks for everones help sofar.
    I’m getting closer but still no prize.

    I have the printer defined has.
    Printer=USB Name=HP3055 ModelID=”HP Laserjet 3050 Series PCL 6″ Queue=”lp” Enabled=yes

    I have 2 Citrix farms. one version 4.0 the other 4.5, I have loaded the same drive on both citrix farms, this is what I get.

    when connecting to the 4.0 farm, running a full citrix desktop, the printer is created with the right driver. I can send 1 print job from the citrix session, that print job is printed OK, then the printer just sits there reporting that it’s printing a job and no other jobs will be printed till you power cycle the printer. basicly I need to power cycle the printer after each print.

    When I switch over to the 4.5 citrix farm, it does not even create the printer. 🙂

    the wyse OS version is 6.3.1 build 21

    Cheers, Stephen

    Download the 6.3.4-19 version from wyse.com. 6.3.1 is very old.

    Just put the .64m file you’ve downloaded on a FTP server in a folder wysewlx.
    Configure the client under Control Panel-Network-FTP Server (Fileserver) with the IP address of the FTP server.
    BEFORE rebooting now you should install the addon UPGRADE-3.7.pak from the V50 download section. To do this, put is somewhere on the FTP server eg. wysewlxaddons (this way all addons put there will be installed automatically during reboot) and open Control Panel-Addons. There you can point to the directory and install the UPGRADE-3.7.pak.
    Now reboot the client and it should auto upgrade.
    BTW, creating a wlx.ini file in the wysewlx folder will configure the client the way you want it to by adding the correct parameters to the file.
    All parameters can be found on my website together with a tool to create the files easily.
