Hello everyone. I have about 100 Wyse boxes where I work. We have two Wyse box types Zero 3020 Client (Gen1) Model number Tx0 and Zero 3020 Client (Gen2) Model number Tx0D.
On the Gen2 boxes User1 is able to log in and lock their account. Now if User2 comes by and just taps the power button it will give User2 the Power Down window that has a counter on it. If User2 clicks on the cancel button then User2 can log into User1’s account.
Gen1 does not have this issue, but when I try:
Shutdown=Yes
Shutdown=turnoff
Shutdowncount=0 <–This seems to lock up the Gen1 when you try to log back into the account. Like what User2 would try to do.
I have also tried
Shutdown=Yes
Shutdown=turnoff
ShutdownCounter=0 <–This seems to also lock up the Gen1 when you try to log back into the account. Like what User2 would try to do.
It will lock up or it will display “Panic: out of system heap” then lock up.
I am looking for a way to just power off the Wyse box when the user taps the power button.
Which firmware version are you running?
CG
System Version: HF 2.0_508
BIOS version: 7.1_212
First of all you should upgrade to the newest version of firmware which is just released last week. This is either 2.1_031 or 2.2_017. These should fix the Panic error.
Also try the ShutdownCounter=0 with this version.
