    Subject: Interactive Voice w/ TCX4

I am more of a novice about this, but I need your help. At our school, our technology people invested in a V10L/VXO WYSE system. Unfortunately, the system did not allow for interactive voice, such as with Rosetta Stone. Now, they are employing TCX4, and it works with several interactive products, such as Soliloquy. Unfortunately, Rosetta requires USB microphones, which if reactivated allows student (9th grade) access to the system. Do any of you Jedi have any thoughts on this? Please let me know.

With hthe latest firmware of WTOS Wyse has implemented a gneric USB Audio driver. So most USB audio devices should work by default.
I haven’t tested especially any mics but have played around with a Logitech and GN headset.
    Both worked perfectly for me.

Okay, Thank you. I am listening. Does the “chip” have anything to do with CXT4. The WYSE people told me that the model we have would need an updated “chip,” and would continue to need to update the chip each year because organizations like Rosetta change and/or improve their program each year. Another party suggested hardwiring the headsets to avoid exposure to contaminated student pin drives. In other words, are their other parties using WYSE and CXT4 who are successfully employing interactive voice for products like Rosetta Stone on mass (multiple users) basis? Please add your ideas and suggest any contacts who might have done this already. I am and our students will be grateful for years to come. Thank you,

The product is called TCX Suite 4. You will need it to get bidirectional sound.
    Never worked with Rosetta.

Learning more. Is the updated “chip” a factor?
