In particular, X10_wnos-9.1_011.31 can’t be added in the THinOS 9 section of WMS3.1 but is accepted in the ThinOS (8) section. So far so good,  but how do I “publish” it in WMS3.1 ?

OTOH, BIOS 1.8 is accepted in ThinOS 9 section only.

Ok, I’ve added X10_wnos the old fashioned way, to my http server , and voila…

The X10_wnos or any other _wnos file is designed for ThinOS 8. This means, that when you want or have to use such a file, you would have to use it inside of a ThinOS 8 policy.
Remember, you are converting a ThinOS 8 unit to a ThinOS 9 one. Therefore, you are assigning a policy to a ThinOS 8 device. Of course, the package itself contains ThinOS 9 but this is irrelevant at this point.

    Hello, help me!

    I need to update Wyse Class C, but I don’t know how to proceed;

    Version: 7.1_122

Which version should I use for this model and which programs?

    Hi ConfGen,

I have an issue I hope you may help me with.

On two of our thin clients, Dell Wyse T10D, we suddenly today got a message of “RDP require network layer authentication”. I think this may have something to do with the firmware, so I was planning to update this. Both have version 8.0_210.

I found the new Firmware, 8.6_206 on Dell.com and downloaded this. In this download there was two files, DOVE_boot and Dove_boot.i2d, both copied to the folder \WYSE\ on the FTP server. We also made a wnos.ini in \WYSE\wnos\ with the parameters; Autoload=1 loadpkg=1 Addpkg=TCX,FR,horizon. As told in the info with this file from Dell.

I add the FTP address, username and password in the General tab on the client and restart.

On the client, in system information” I get error “Invalid statement: LoadPkg”, “Invalid statement: Addpkg”, “checking software ftp://wnos/T10D_wnos” and “checking software ftp://wnos/T10D_bios”.

On the FTP server I can see that the client also tries to check the file “\wyse\wnos\T10D_EC.bin”

The only file I can see from the download, and that is copied to FTP server, is DOVE_boot. What am I missing here?

I have used a hole day on this  and got nowhere – so any help is appreciated!

    Kind regards,
    Roy

    Hi,

Beside the fact that upgrading your ThinOS 8.0 would be a good thing (look for OS_Web_xxxx files)  Network Layer Authentication has been around since RDP 7 and ThinOS 8.0 is perfectly capable of.

NLA has rather been enforced on the host side.

    On your wmos.ini, this is SessionConfig=RDP EnableNLA=yes

I currently have a fleet of D10D devices (Wyse 5010) that are currently running 8.4_108. An upgrade to our VDI has necessitated an upgrade. I have visited Dell’s websirte and downloaded all available options. I put the ZD10_wnos file on my windows server and it refuses to pick it up. I have tried with 8.5 and 8.6. Is there something I am missing? Any ideas why it is not updating?

Thankfully this issue is resolved. But let me say how lucky I am to have come across this site. A lot of excellent resources here.

    Hi,

we updated a Wyse 5070 to ThinOS 9.1 via USB Imaging Tool and Merlin files. We also added our wnos.ini file (which worked in ThinOS 8) to the USB stick (of course in wnos folder) but the wnos.ini is not working anymore. ThinOS is unable to load the file.

Did something change in ThinOS 9.1 regarding wnos files? Thnak you for any help!

    best regards,

    Swen

ThinOS 9 no longer supported INI parameters. All management has to be done via WMS.

Thx for the quick reply! So we need to downgrade to 8.6. But this is also failing. We are using USB Imaging Tool wit Merlin 8.6 but the thinclinet is not booting from the USB drive anymore. Any idea?

    best regards,

    Hi Thomas,

I installed WMS 3.1 HF1 (the new one) today.

Now I wanted to update one of our 5070 from 8.6_606 to 9.1.1131.

So I downloaded the “ThinOS 8.6 to ThinOS 9.1.1131 Base Image file” and extracted it.

But I cannot upload it to the WMS (in German: OS-Abbild-Repository -> ThinOS -> Firmware-Datei hinzufügen, select the extracted “X10_wnos”).

-> It just cancels at 4%

    Any idea?

    Thanks a lot!
