Hello,
I am in need of help. I am a bit new to learning about and configuring wyse boxes. Currently, my company has the T10, 3030, and 3040 models that run the Windows Server 2012 R2.
I recently re-imaged a 3040 model via boot to USB, but I never actually captured the image from it. Now my boss, with his lack of help, is asking me to capture the image of a reference 3030 wyse box onto the USB drive, and re-image a 3030 model.
I’ve looked online for help, and I’ve found several different articles that are telling me to do different things. I am afraid I’ll mess something up on the server, so I was hoping someone or anyone could direct me with safe, easy steps to copy the image of the working reference 3030 wyse box in order to re-image a 3030 wyse box.
Thanks so much in advance!
Yours truly,
Mary
Hi Mary,
ThinOS is not really developed to be transfered via USB.
Normally you upgrade units via webserver as described in my First Steps PDF in the Downloads section.
However, you can try the Dell USB Imaging tool which can be downloaded also in the Downloads section or under downloads.dell.com/wyse

That’s the thing though..
I have the Dell Wyse Imaging Tool on my USB FD. I have used it to pull an image from a working Wyse 3040 and pushed the image onto a 3040 that was untable. No issues at all.
All the models we use are the same x64 structure.
I messed around with Bios and was able to boot from USB, but now I am getting an error that says, “USB Key is not configured for proper Architecture”.
Should I grab another USB to place the Imaging tool on and then try to perform an image pull?
ThinOS units are x32
