I want to replace the default Wyse V6 Linux image on a set of S50 thin clients and replace it with a thinstation image configured to use Nomachine NX client.
Does anybody have an idea how I might go about doing that? What sort of tricks has Wyse employed to get in the way of putting a straight image on the flash drive?
Hi,
The S50 is a X86 based so you can use any standard imaging tools to load the image. ThinStation is really designed as network boot so you can centrally manage the image,
Cheers,

The trouble is that I don’t really know how to flash a custom image to the Wyse units. They misbehave if they don’t recognize the image. What do I upload? Just the kernel and initrd? I’m sure there’s more to it than that… they’ve done stuff to the BIOS so that you can’t just flash them with whatever you like.
Have you ever done this?
