Does Dell Plan To Release Off-Cycle Plugins?

Off-cycle meaning outside of the quarterly updates. They recently released Citrix Workspace 21.4 outside of the quarterly update. Really hoping for a WebEx plugin and Zoom plugin updates. Most enterprises with WebEx are on automatic updates and 40.11 is not compatible beyond 41.3 which we’ve already gone past in production.

Had a meeting with Cisco engineering and WebEx 41.6 will address backwards compatibility with the plugin as far back as 41.2 but ThinOS 9 doesn’t even support that yet.

Additionally a meeting with Zoom engineering informed me that while Zoom client installs are backwards compatible to varying degree with the Zoom plugin, even though you can have a working older plugin with a newer client, the Zoom admin dashboard and call metrics show erroneous Jitter latency stats that compound over time.

Zoom call data will show the Zoom plugin connected and detected but audio and video jitter latency will compound over the duration of the call in the Zoom admin call statistics. I’ve seen (depending on length of meeting) upwards of 200,000ms of audio and video jitter SEND data for the thin client users which isn’t accurate. The the plugin matches the client version this goes away.

Hoping @ConfGen has some inside information. Would also be helpful if Dell informed us of the coming versions prior to release so we can have matching client installs tested and packaged for SCCM deployment to desktops and VM.
