Having an issue setting getting our new thin clients 5060 to check in to the Dell Wyse Management Suite. Management wants to use the Management suite to manage about 20 to 30 thin clients. I have the thin client setup and we can login to our AD accounts but for some reason it is not reporting into the management suite.

We are using Microsoft connection Broker, I do see an error on the Event log of the thin client but the troubleshooting information for this on dell or the web is like trying to find a working 386 DX 33. I am hoping someone here can help out before I contact Dell and scream at them for the lack of documentation.

I have some errors below and I have no idea what or why the error is happening and I can’t find any documentation to help decipher it.

    Original Event log error:

    Contacting WDM Server…

WDM:  Cached settings have been loaded.

    WDM agent: Write error 2

WDA: Connect to WDM/CCM Failed retry in 24 hours.

    New Event log error:

    To summarize:
    – you are using ThinOS device
    – you are using RDSH
    – you are using WMS

ThinOS and RDSH are working fine. Only the checkin to WMS fails.
    Correct?
How do you “tell” the clients where to find WMS?
Which firmware version are you running on the client?
    Which WMS version?

    Hi SeanGo,

can you shortly summarize the DNS settings you made..?

important is that _WMS_CAVALIDATION and _WMS_GROUPTOKEN go under “domain” and not under “_tcp.domain” in the DNS-Server…

    Regards

    Volker
