    Hello,

We use Android studio on our Wyse 3040 and D10DP thin clients.
We connect Huawei Y6 smartphone in USB and use a USB redirection : device=vusb forceredirect=0x12d1,0x107f,0xff,0xff,0x00
On the D10DP, everything works fine, the smartphone is recognized and we can compile programs with Android Studio and install them on the smartphone.
On the 3040, the smartphone is well recognized by the OS (windows 7) and the Android studio software. When installing a program on the smartphone via Android Studio we have a “device not found” error. As if the USB redirection was not working properly. The same problem occurs with Samsung phones, they are well recognized
on the D10DP but have the same problem as the Huawei with the 3040.
Could it be a problem with the USB power supply on the 3040 that is not powerful enough?
    Does anyone have an idea…
    Thank you.

You could prove that yourself with a powered USB hub that is attached to the 3040.

I would compare BIOS setting of the D10 to the 3040 and see what might be different between the two.

Thanks for the the Bios idea
On the 5010(D10DP) it is a UEFI WYSE BIOS, very simple from 1995.
On the 3040 it is a completely different UEFI DELL BIOS (up to date). I played with many options, but nothing worked, always the same problem when android studio has to write an apk file on the smartphone.

Kind of issues are mostly related with electrical.

D10DP Power adaptor and 3040 Power adaptor are different.

    Please try different DP Cable.

The possibility is less but could you try to use USB hub with electrically grounded adaptor.

    Thanks for your help Midas,
I tried with 2 different small hubs with power supply and also a big dock dell d6000 (with a big power supply) plugged on the usb port of the 3040, it’s the same it doesn’t work. On the D10DP the 3 solutions (HUB + Dock) worked.
When you talk about DP cables it’s display port ?
I disconnected all the USB (keyboard, mouse) and the Display port cable, to save energy and I used the 3040 with a VNC connection, only the smartphone and the network cable were connected to the device, it gave nothing.

    DP=”Display Port”

Please change it with a different brand cable. Then let’s see.

What is BIOS version on Wyse 3040 ?

I tried with other DP cables, it’s the same thing.
The bios is a DELL 1.2.5 firmware, it is up to date.
A colleague lent me a high end samsung android smartphone, it works on the 3040, so the problem doesn’t look electrical.
