    Hey everyone,

we got a new shipment of Wyse 3040 thin clients. Apparently, these shipped with ThinOS 9 and are also marked “PCoIP-ready”. Thus, they require another firmware.

Since we’re not using PCoIP: Is there a way to convert the “Wyse 3040 PCoIP” to a regular “Wyse 3040” so we just have to provide a single firmware file?

    Thanks!

With ThinOS 9 there is only the PCoIP-included version. There is no Non-PCoIP version any more.

    Okay, now I’m confused.

    1) https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER07545003M/1/OS_Web_v8.6_807_3040_ENG.zip

    2) https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER07547083M/1/OS_Web_v8.6_807_3040_PCoIP_ENG.zip

Firmware 1) cannot be used on PCoIP devices and vice versa. Same goes for the Merlin downloads.

Right now, I would have to upload both versions to WMS in order to update both device editions.

Ok, sorry, maybe I was not clear enough.
There is no Non-PCoIP version for ThinOS 9(!) anymore.
As new units are now shipped with 9 you will always have PCoIP on board.
When you downgrade to 8 you would have to use the PCoIP version.
