    Hi,

     

    I wanted to know if it is necessary to install the ‘Configuration UI package for Dell Wyse Management Suite’ when upgrading WMS to 2.0 or 3.0 for use with thinos 9.

     

    What does this package do exactly?

    WMS gets updates approximately every three months.
    Sometimes the Thin Client OS gets updates in the meantime. That way you would have to wait several weeks for new settings to get implemented in WMS. The Configuration UI package will enhance the „old“ WMS server with new UI settings.
    So, yes, if there is a newer UI package for your WMS server, go and install it.

    Thanks for the reply.

    So, for WMS 3.2.1, would this package also be necessary?

    Is there a way to tell which settings are included in the package compared to Thinos?

    You can go to Portal Administration Portal-Setup and scroll down. There you will details about the UI package version that is installed.
    Compare that with the available package from Dell Support side.
