    Hi there

I have bought a couple of used TC 3040 on ebay(Kleinanzeigen).

All of them are equipped with ThinOS. As I want to use them with VMWare-ESXI6.5 and to give support to users using such a client, I am searching for a solution.

My idea was to change from ThinOS to ThinLinux and than install Anydesk to the TC. But I am not able to change the system.

Is there any possibility to do this, or does someone have a hint how I can get to my goal?

Thank you in advance and stay healthy and safe

    Regards christoph

    Hi

I finally found out by myself. With 8GB it will not be possible, because the image says 16GB.

So I forget this and will find another solution!

    Regards Christoph

    No, not possible.
You could try to install your own Linux if flash space allows.

Is this possible with the USB imaging tool and a 16gb device?

You cannot convert the units with any Dell WYSE tool.
Most Linux versions have a bootable ISO. Use that to install it.

Is there a link on documentation to do so? Is there a way to install specifically ThinLinux, so I can still manage the device with my WMS instance?

    Re-read this thread.
No way to convert any Wyse OS into another.
