    Hello all,

We currently have around 600 Wyse C10LE devices in our estate, we had WDM 4.8 installed on it own server. Shutting down clients or changing device info never worked on this, it was a low priority for us and it got left for a while. I upgraded to WDM 4.9.1 last week in the hope it would fix the issue but it still remains. If i choose shutdown/restart/WOL nothing happens to the device. the tasks are sat in ‘real time commands’ so they have been sent.

Ive also noticed that i cant change any device info eg add a location or change the device name. the box comes up and i add the info but when i click ok nothing changes. i have tried ‘refresh device info’

the device i was testing with is next to me and it reported in 3 minutes before i attempted to shut it down. the WDM server is on the domain with the domain firewall turned off. Remote shadowing works fine. my account shows as an ‘administrator’ account in WDM.

I cant really think of what to check, do any of you have any ideas?

it is WDM 4.9.1 workgroup edition we use

What firmware are you running on the C10LE?

Ive managed to progress this a bit now. in the fact that WDM and the devices can now talk to each other. There was a slight config issue with the IIS FTP.

My issues still remain however, i do get no errors in the event logs of the wyse devices now (i never knew the admin password to check before) however when i click shutdown or deploy the shutdown package to a device the event log states

    Hagent – invalid command

I did look to update this on the devices however there doesnt seem to be a hagent update in the packages for WTOS, but there does for many other platforms. Is this done through the 7.1 firmware and if so do any of you know where to get the latest firmware for them?

To get it to work with WDM 4.9.1 you need latest WTOS code 7.1_122 or later.
This is clearly indicated in the WDM release notes.

Hagent is part of the firmware and cannot be upgraded separately.

Hey Chris, I have the exact same problem, WDM v 4.8.5 with V10L’s with version 7.0.113 firmware. I can see them in WDM, can remote into them but can’t edit any of their information or reboot/shutdown. You said you had a config issue with the IIS FTP. Could you share the fix?

Ours was more to do with the previous install as the installer changed the ftp site name and folder location and then didnt edit it in wdm

I have another issue at the moment which is the following:

i can restart/shutdown/WOL/Edit Device info now in the devices view

If i do package distribution i get:
Reboot: Works ok although in the console it tells me its failed
    Shutdown: doesnt work
    WOL: doesnt work

Also if i use the shutdown package, it doesnt work but then doing anything to that device doesnt work until i reboot it manually. eg distribute shutdown package (fails) then right click device and shutdown/reboot doesnt work until i restart it manually

Im really starting to hate WDM. Ive even installed it on a sandbox server with just my server and a C10LE client and it does the same. Does anyone have any ideas?

    EDIT:
Just to confirm i am using the WG edition, is the package distribution feature available in WG Edition? i would assume so as other features say you need enterprise to use them if they arent in WG

    Well just reading this post:
    http://www.freewysemonkeys.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=7404

It says WTOS doesnt support the scripting of packages? Im not sure how true this is as the reboot script works. Also in the WDM script build you can choose WTOS as the language. Can anyone confirm this?
