Has anyone experienced the Dell AC511 USB sound bar volume knob not working and can only be adjusted from the session in ThinOS 9.1.5 and 9.1.6? If its at the login screen it works fine so it seems to be only affected in session.

I have the sound turned on in the bios audio and enabled speakers in the audio settings. I even tried the manual overide switch to see if that would help. If anyone thinks of something I’m missing please let me know.

I may not be much help since we haven’t upgraded past 9.1.329 yet but I had some trouble originally getting this same device to “default” as the primary audio device.  It would always show up but I didn’t have much control over it either so wondering if this might help you.

Mind you, we are in a Citrix VDI environment as well.

We had to explicitly define the Playback Device as “Dell AC511 USB SoundBar”, minus quotes.  After this, Windows session only acknowledged a single playback device and all audio controls passed through.

Hope this helps in your scenario.  Cheers!

Thanks for the response. I’m glad it wasn’t only me and a bad setting. I opened a ticket with Dell also so hopefully they fix it. I had to tell them no its not always been this way and that 8.6 doesn’t need redirection and never has for that speaker.

Yes – I’m talking to dell about this too.

It doesn’t show up in the citrix / win10 session – all you get in the sound settings is HDX audio. (They all show up in the device sound settings)

We’ve tried a number or fixes including manually forcing the soundbar via peripherals, audio, playback/recording device.

Same issue with dell sb521 and a logitech conference cam
