I get the message “You do not have permission to connect to specified Rapport Database.” when launching WDM 4.5.3. I have connected to it many times and have distributed images to many terminals. I haven’t for a month or so but I am getting some more devices and need to get them imaged for our configuration. Does anyone know why this would just start happening? Thanks!

Here are some steps you can try:
    – Check if the password of the local “Rapport” account has expired. Set it to never expire and do not change it.
    – Open the database and add the database user account named also Rapport again. To do this you have to log in to the DB using eg SQL Enterprise Manager and then do the following steps:

-Open Security and delete the Rapport user
    -Create a new Rapport user
    -Expand the RapportDB database
-Select the Users node under RapportDB
-Create new SQL user account “Rapportâ€￾ (SQL Server Authentication)
    a. Set Password to “ThinMgmt_451â€￾
    b. Set Default Database to “RapportDBâ€￾
    c. Uncheck option to Enforce Password Policy if needed
-Select Ok to create the new user (confirm password if prompted)
-Select the newly Created Rapport user account from the Login name drop-down. (Login name and User name should both appear as “Rapportâ€￾
-Grant db_owner access to the Rapport account by selecting the checkbox
-Click OK to finish adding the Rapport account with db_owner access to the RapportDB database.

You do not have Permission, normally means the windows account you are logged in as, hasn’t been granted permissions to access the WDM GUI. These permissions are assigned from within the WDM GUI. The User account that installed WDM would have been granted Admin rights and can add your account to the user list.

Fortunately, this means that the SQL changes indicated in the previous post shouldn’t be needed, as its accessign the Database fine, but doesn’t recognize your account as authorized to open the GUI.
