When you download a wyse addon, or package, there is a BIN file included with it. Any idea where I might be able to get some more information on this file?
I’d like to look inside at all the files, etc that are in it.
Hi,
The BIN file is a collection of all the files and registry settings that go into a unit. They can be created using the bundle32.exe found in Rapport. There is a special format for the files and a params.ini file that will need to be present to allow the bin to load.
Unfortunately most other CE binary’s will need to be customised to run on Wyse CE so even if you load a new exe it may not run – this is one of the big drawbacks of Microsofts CE design.
I have seen BIN’s that just contain CE registry setting being made no problem. You can use the wizard in Rapport to do this with an existing OS firmware binary,
Cheers,
