    Hello

    I would like to ask you, how to configure USB audio card to allow it on RDP ?

    We´re using 8.4_112 FW on DX0D with config SessionConfig=RDP EnableNLA=yes ForceSpan=no EnableRecord=yes USBRedirection=RDP

    When I delete USBRedirection it works great but stopped working other devices. In log it looks that device is redirected to remote desktop, but only internal speaker works. I´ve tryied to disable it  (Device=audio EnableSpeaker=no ) but sound is still playing in internal speaker.

    Any idea how to solve it ?

    thank you

    Hi,

    As far as I understand that “USB redirection” thing… :

    When USBRedirection is set to RDP, The USB audio device will be made available as “Remote Audio” within a RDP session. This is the same behavior as a regular Windows RDP client. From the Microsoft point of view of the “redirection” meaning, this is  “RDP High-Level Device Redirection…”

    See https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2010/06/10/introducing-microsoft-remotefx-usb-redirection-part-1/

    On the other hand when the redirection is handled by  TCX (are you using it ?), you could set VUSB_AUDIO=yes on the Wyse side and the audio device should appear as local device to the remote computer.

    That said, check on the Wyse which device is selected. I’m struggling with a ThinOS 8.5 bug/feature where some USB Audio devices are not selected by default. One have to select it manually Through the Wyse Peripherals tab.

    I’m not using TCX anymore, but it is supposed to deliver “Rich sound” so there’s probably a parameter to adjust the quality of the sound at the TCX server side.

    And it is possible to do it in other way ? Using USBredirection=RDP ?

    If you are not using TCX (and I am pretty sure you don’t), then it makes no sense to use
    USBRedirection=TCX
    Therefore, please try

    USBRedirection=RDP
    SessionConfig=ALL VUSB_AUDIO=no

    When using USBredirection=RDP the sound quality can in theory be forced on the RDP server side through local policy  (gpedit.msc)

    Computer Configuration/Windows Component/Remote Desktop Services/Remote Desktop Session Host/Device and Resource Redirection/Limit Audio Playback Quality/

    Enable and select “High”

    (I wrote “in theory” because I recently tested a 5010 (ThinOS 8.5) connected to a W10 virtual and had the feeling that the sound quality was dynamic. Maybe a RemoteFx thing to adjust somewhere else (Note that I’m not even sure if ThinOS supports RemoteFX audio)

    Hello

    With USBRedirection=RDP
    SessionConfig=ALL VUSB_AUDIO=no works too, but audio quality is very poor.

    I´ve tryied to set Computer Configuration/Windows Component/Remote Desktop Services/Remote Desktop Session Host/Device and Resource Redirection/Limit Audio Playback Quality/ to high but nothing change.

    When we´re trying that USB audio via PC, audio is in good quality, so problem will be on TC side.

    Any idea how to increase quality of sound ?

    Or if its possible to delete line USBRedirection=RDP (because when i delete it, audio quality is good), and redirect only specified USB devices ?

    Now i tested it with headphones with 3,5mm jack and quality is poor too. Problem is only when I´m using TC.

    Is there any solution how to solve that ?

    Try to downgrade. (Start at 8.0 or even 7, if available). I never had any RDP audio problems with 7.

    Problems started with 8 and the audio support has not been stable accross versions, to me. The first thin I’m testing when a new version is available is audio. Surprise surprise almost every time.
