I have a 5470 laptop (9.1.2101) connected to a docking station.  When watching a video in a remote session, we are unable to get any audio.  When I unplug the docking station, the audio starts playing on the laptops internal speakers.  We also found that we get audio if we plug external speakers into the docking station.

My question:  Can I set it to always use the internal laptop speakers even when plugged into the dock?  Where would I do this in WMS if possible? And, would I be putting in the VID/PID or the actually name of the device.

I believe this is the device information that I found in the event viewer.

    class_0x040300 VID_0x8086 PID_0x3198

Is this a WD19 USB-C dock? I know there where some known issues in the past with audio on the dock. Are the speakers USB or 3.5mm output from the dock?

    This is a WD19 USB-C dock.

We could get audio from the dock by plugging into the 3.5mm jack.  We did not try any USB speakers.

I was able to get the speakers working on the laptop when plugged into the dock by disabling the following setting.

WMS > Groups and Configs > WTOS 9 > Edit Policies > ThinOS 9.X > Session Settings > Global Session Settings

Turned off “USB Redirection Exclude Audio Devices”

I was also going to suggest you could add ‘HD audio-1’ without the ‘’ as the Playback Device in the WMS console under Peripheral Management >> Audio >> Playback Device.

Im a bit surprised your setting is working for you because the 5470 isn’t using USB audio it’s built in audio on the main board. You might run into an issue if you do plugin a USB audio source like headset or speakers if you still want the audio source to be the 5470 built in. Just be aware.
