It seems the 3040’s on 9.1.2101 when rebooted do not retain the default audio device selected. The 5070 a d 5470 seem to remember the default audio. I’ve seen this with the Plantronics Blackwire 3225 Series and the 5220 Series. Each time it reboots I ha e to manually change the audio from Intel SST Audio-2 to the Plantronics under System Setup>Peripherals>Audio. I don’t believe this to be an issue with the USB headset I think it’s specific to the 3040. I don’t recall this as a known issue.
I’m able make a device level change and add the default audio device name to the policy and it will set and keep the default audio after reboot but that doesn’t seem like intended behavior.
This is a known issue and should be fixed in the next release in July. However, I am not 100% sure.

how did you put the default audio device in the policy?

I entered the name of the device in the policy
I can confirm this fixed it. I got a preview of ThinOS 9.1.3109 from my rep (version on release may be different) and the issue is fixed.
