I figured this out in our environment and it ended up being a Group Policy setting:
Computer Configuration / Policies / Administrative Templates / Windows Components / Remote Desktop Services / Remote Desktop Session Host / Security / Always prompt for password upon connection
The odd thing is that this policy has been in place for quite some time and doesn’t affect our thin clients running ThinOS 8.6_807. It’s only after upgrading to 9.x that it became a problem.
