I have recently been struggling with a similar issue (will post on that soon)

If it is 9.1 with the WVD agent then it won’t work. After finding that smartcard and even normal USB weren’t working, I had a dig through all the release notes and eventually discovered that the current 9.1 WVD does not support redirections when 8.6 did – see:

So until this is sorted out, there appears to be no way to handle smartcards etc on 9.1 with WVD – Incredible!

This is from the 9.1.1131 release notes but do not believe newer release change this – it certainly doesn’t work on mine..
